We are committed to providing a safer cinema experience for all of our guests.
Measures and protocols are in place in our cinemas for your safety, well-being and enjoyment.
Please review the varied guidance and rules applying to our cinemas in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
ENGLAND
In our commitment to providing a safer cinema experience, the following measures and recommendations are in place in our cinemas in England:
- enhanced cleaning and sanitisation protocols are in place throughout all areas of our cinemas
- where possible, we recommend contactless payments
- face masks must be worn unless guests are eating or drinking - please read our detailed guidance here
- in line with government advice relating to public settings, we encourage guests to use lateral flow testing before attending our cinemas
SCOTLAND
In our commitment to providing a safer cinema experience, the following measures and recommendations are in place in our cinemas in Scotland:
- enhanced cleaning and sanitisation protocols are in place throughout all areas of our cinemas
- where possible, we recommend contactless payments
- face masks must be worn unless guests are eating or drinking - please read our detailed guidance here
- in line with government advice relating to public settings, we encourage guests to use lateral flow testing before attending our cinemas
WALES
In our commitment to providing a safer cinema experience, the following measures and recommendations are in place in our cinemas in Wales:
- enhanced cleaning and sanitisation protocols are in place throughout all areas of our cinemas
- where possible, we recommend contactless payments
- face masks must be worn unless guests are eating or drinking - please read our detailed guidance here
- in line with government advice relating to public settings, we encourage guests to use lateral flow testing before attending our cinemas
- following government guidelines, all guests aged 18 or over must present one of the following to attend our cinemas in Wales:
- a digital NHS COVID pass - people who are fully vaccinated in Wales can download a certificate proving they are fully vaccinated
- a paper version of the NHS COVID pass
- confirmation of a negative test result by email or text provided by gov.uk (no older than 48 hours)
- confirmation of a positive test within the last 6 months which has been followed by the appropriate period of isolation (i.e. 10 days) - this can be evidenced through the NHS COVID pass or via an official text or email from gov.uk
- guests who cannot provide one of the above forms of proof of their COVID status will be refused entry to our cinemas in Wales
- guests under the age of 18 are exempt from these guidelines

NORTHERN IRELAND
In our commitment to providing a safer cinema experience, the following measures and recommendations are in place in our cinemas in Northern Ireland:
- enhanced cleaning and sanitisation protocols are in place throughout all areas of our cinemas
- where possible, we recommend contactless payments
- face masks must be worn unless guests are eating or drinking - please read our detailed guidance here
- in line with government advice relating to public settings, we encourage guests to use lateral flow testing before attending our cinemas
- following government guidelines, all guests aged 18 or over must present one of the following to attend our cinemas in Northern Ireland:
- vaccination certificate on the CovidCertNI app
- a paper vaccination certificate
- proof of a negative lateral flow test reported in the previous 48 hours
- proof of natural immunity from a positive PCR test result taken in the previous 30 to 180 days
Enhanced cleaning throughout
- Thorough and frequent cleaning routines are performed throughout our cinemas, with additional controls in all toilet facilities.
- Stations offering sanitising gels and wipes with our compliments are available at allocated points.
- All cinema teams are comprehensively trained on our safety and hygiene measures.
Safer buying
- We recommend you book online for a contactless experience and pay by card or contactless in-cinema where possible to help you buy safer.
- We also offer a broad range of pre-packaged food and drinks, with contactless till payments.
Face covering in cinemas
- In line with government guidelines, please wear a suitable face covering when you visit our cinemas in Wales, Northern Ireland, England and Scotland.
- When seated in the auditorium you may remove your face covering to enjoy food and drinks.
- Within our Costa outlets, you may remove your face covering to eat and drink once you are seated and socially distant from other guests.
- Our teams will be equipped with personal protective equipment - including face coverings and gloves.
How we’re supporting NHS Test & Trace
In England, anyone 16 and over is encouraged to leave their contact details to support the NHS Test and Trace system. The fastest way to do this is for everyone in your party to download the NHS Test and Trace app now, and then simply check in when you arrive at the cinema.
In Scotland, the lead member of the attending group (if aged 12 and over) is asked to leave their contact details to support the Test & Protect system. The fastest way to do this is to download the Test & Protect App now, and then simply check in when you arrive at the cinema.
In Wales, anyone 16 and over is encouraged to leave their contact details to support the Test, Trace, Protect programme by completing a form at the cinema. You may also check in via the NHS app.
In Northern Ireland, anyone aged 16 and over is asked to leave their contact details to support the Test, Trace, Protect system. The fastest way to do this is for everyone in your party to download the StopCOVID NI app now, and then simply check in when you arrive at the cinema.
When ATTENDING OUR CINEMAS
1. In line with government advice relating to public settings, we encourage guests to use lateral flow testing before attending our cinemas
2. Please wash your hands when appropriate and use our sanitising stations with our compliments.
3. Please be at your auditorium in good time for your scheduled start time and have your tickets ready for visual inspection.
4. We have strict guidelines for any of our colleagues who may begin to show early symptoms to stay away from the cinema. We would welcome all of our guests to do the same and stay home if they feel unwell.
5. Please follow government guidelines with regards to wearing face coverings.
